What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) - Pedicatrics position at FRIENDSHIP COMMUNITY CARE?
SUMMARY:
The primary function of the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is to engage, monitor, collect data and report on a variety of behavioral support service delivery options to meet the needs of clients diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and/or other behavioral and social/communication challenges. In addition to the RBT job, the lead RBT will have additional responsibilities outlined below to help ensure that the ABA department functions smoothly and efficiently.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential duties include the following but are not considered an inclusive list.
- Exhibits knowledge of autism spectrum disorders.
- Exhibits proper cooperation, enthusiasm, and interest in all areas necessary for success of FCC and associated services provided.
- Maintains compliance with FCC Policy/Procedures, State/Federal law, and CARF accreditation.
- Assists in community involvement for Public Relations.
- Carrying out the plan of care as instructed by the Behavior Analyst.
- Assisting Behavior Analyst with behavior reduction assessments and skill acquisition plans.
- Teaching specific behavior skills as identified in the treatment plan.
- Nurturing social skills.
- Communicate professionally with all parties.
- Maintain current training related to autism spectrum disorders.
- Implement best practice applied behavior analysis programming.
- Collect accurate and immediate data during treatment sessions.
- Ensure that all data collected is entered into the Electronic Health Record system. (Credible)
- Responsible for keeping the child engaged, the setup of incidental learning opportunities, teaching appropriate play and social skills, and providing reinforcement for desired behaviors.
- Collects quantifiable behavior data at regular intervals and maintains required documentation according to written procedure.
- Participates in professional meetings or conferences as assigned.
- Adheres to the mission, vision, and values of FCC.
- Assist the BCBA in training new RBT staff including familiarizing staff with Catalyst, Credible, and the daily flow of the ABA department.
- Assist BCBA with ordering materials.
- Assist BCBA in obtaining prescriptions and pre-authorization letters.
- Assist BCBA with managing the scheduling of clients and RBTs.
- Assists with community events promoting ABA and FCC.
- Other duties as assigned.

- The Code of Conduct and Compliance Investigation Procedures as read and discussed in the new employee training must be followed at all times.
- Consumers’ progress notes be maintained and completed daily or as needed on the prescribed forms.
- Consumers’ records must be maintained weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly. All information must be filed in consumers’ records as needed and updated as prescribed by funding sources.

Qualifications:
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must earn the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential within the first 60 days of employment.
- Pass the RBT exam through BACB.
- Preferred experience working with children or adults with autism or a developmental disability.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, write and interpret medical history, assess reports and relevant data. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees within the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
