Costume Designer
Friends Select School seeks a costume designer for our Winter and Spring 2024-2025 productions. The costume designer will collaborate with the production team (Producer, Director, Choreographer, Technical Director, Props Coordinator) as well as students, to create a positive educational theater experience for everyone. The time commitment will consist of about 1-2 days during the first week of rehearsal for measurements and concept presentations, with potential to increase as you get closer to the performance dates. The ideal candidate will be organized, creative, positive, collaborative, flexible and open to learning about/supporting our Quaker values.
The salary is $2,000 per show, $4,000 total.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Attend all production meetings/performances as scheduled
- Collaborate with the Director on initial concept, design, and final product
- Oversee purchasing and delivery of materials to school
- Oversee setup and strike of wardrobe (within 3 days of closing night)
- Maintain a neat and orderly costume shop/”dressing room” area
- Attend Designer Run (date TBD) and all rehearsals during tech week
Qualifications/Skills:
- Experience designing, sewing and coordinating costumes for theatrical productions (professional and educational)
- Experience working with middle/upper school students
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, time management and organizational skills
- Commitment to Quaker values, social justice and anti-racism
