Preschool Teacher Assistant

Job Summary
Join our vibrant early childhood education team as a Preschool Teacher Assistant, where your enthusiasm and dedication will help create a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young children. In this role, you will support lead teachers in implementing educational activities, managing classroom routines, and fostering positive social and emotional development. Your energy and commitment will contribute to laying a strong foundation for children's growth, curiosity, and love of learning from their earliest years.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead teachers in planning and executing age-appropriate lessons that promote literacy, math, and social skills.
• Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and helping maintain a safe, organized environment.
• Engage with children during activities, providing individualized attention to support their developmental needs.
• Help facilitate inclusive learning experiences for children with special needs or disabilities, including those with autism.
• Supervise children during playtime, meals, naps, and transitions to ensure their safety and well-being.
• Assist with classroom setup, materials preparation, and cleanup to ensure a smooth daily routine.
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to foster a collaborative educational atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of early childhood development principles and best practices in preschool education.
• Experience with classroom management techniques that promote positive behavior and engagement.
• Knowledge of curriculum development including literacy education, math concepts, and Montessori or other pedagogical approaches.
• Ability to work effectively with children of various ages, including toddlers and preschoolers.
• Familiarity with special education strategies and working with children with autism or disabilities.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with teachers, parents, and caregivers clearly and empathetically.

• Must have completed 40 hours of Florida State Childcare Training or be in the process of completing it
• CDA (Child Development Associate) is a plus

Pay: $15.00 - $15.50 per hour
