Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, grooming, and administering medications as needed
- Maintain clean and sanitized animal enclosures, kennels, and common areas to ensure a safe and hygienic environment
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques and animal handling skills to prevent injury or stress
- Assist with pet sitting, pet boarding, and outdoor activities to promote physical activity and mental stimulation
- Support pet owners through excellent customer service by answering questions and providing updates on their pets’ well-being
- Perform routine cleaning tasks such as disinfecting cages, grooming stations, and pet care facilities to uphold sanitation standards
- Assist with training activities like dog handling or basic obedience exercises to improve animal behavior
Experience
- Experience in pet sitting, kennel work, or pet boarding environments demonstrates strong animal handling skills
- Familiarity with animal behavior principles helps in understanding and addressing individual animal requirements
- Outdoor work experience is beneficial for managing pets during outdoor activities or yard duties
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and team lifting tasks safely when handling large or multiple animals
- Excellent customer service skills combined with pet grooming, animal restraint, and sanitization expertise support a well-rounded skill set
