This position will specifically be responsible for creating a potential cohousing or merger list for the day and working with an admissions staff member to coordinate introducing pairs of dogs to cohouse. This position will also ensure that cleared, previously ill, or quarantined dogs are moved to the adoption floor in a timely manner to expedite an outcome and shorten their length of stay in the shelter. A successful cohousing program improves the quality of life for dogs in a shelter environment, expedites and increases live outcomes, and reduces the chance of behavioral decline. This position provides direct services to animals. The PACC supervisor of admissions provides duties, training, and daily supervision.
This work is typically performed under general the direction of the Pet Resource Manager.
