Direct Support Professional (DSP) (Immediate Positions Available)
Full Time, Part Time and Per Diem

Founded by a parent of an adult son with Autism, Friends of Cyrus is committed to providing lifelong disability support services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). As a Friends of Cyrus Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will develop intimate, lifelong friendships with the individuals we serve and encourage them to reach their highest level of independence.
The Ideal FOC DSP:
- Is at least 18 years of age
- Has received their High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Has a valid Driver’s License
- Can pass state-required background checks (Central Registry, MVR, Fingerprinting, Drug Screening, Physical and PPD)
- Has a passion for helping those in need
- Has strong interpersonal skills
- Is comfortable working independently and consistently
- Makes good judgment calls that benefit the FOC program participants and fellow staff members
- Must have the keen ability to responsibly and effectively handle stressful and aggressive challenging behaviors
- At least 1 year or more managing challenging behavior
No experience working in this field? No problem. Friends of Cyrus will help you get the training you need to become the best DSP you can be. In your first week of Orientation, you will receive hands-on training from veterans in the field so that you’re prepared for your time in our Residential and Day Habilitation programs.
Per-diem, Part-time, and Full-time positions are available
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting FOC program participants in their daily life with activities including, community outings, recreational events, cooking, personal care, and skill development
- Transporting FOC program participants to their activities, places of employment, and appointments
- Administering and supervising medication to FOC program participants
- Completing proper electronic documentation
- Ensuring FOC program participants are safe, healthy, and engaged in meaningful ways
