Duties
- Design and implement comprehensive rowing training programs tailored to individual and team needs
- Lead on-water practice sessions focusing on technique, endurance, and safety protocols
- Monitor athlete performance, provide constructive feedback, and track progress over time
- Ensure all safety procedures are followed, including first aid response when necessary
- Foster a positive team environment through effective communication, behavior management, and motivation
- Collaborate with other coaches and staff to coordinate sports-specific training instruction.
- Maintain equipment safety checks and ensure proper maintenance of boats and related gear
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a rowing coach or in sports coaching with a focus on water sports is highly preferred
- Lifeguard experience along with current CPR and First Aid certifications (including AED operation)
- Strong swimming skills and familiarity with water safety protocols
- Experience working with children or youth in sports or educational settings
- Knowledge of sports-specific training instruction techniques.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in team environments and excellent communication abilities
- Background in childcare or physical education teaching is advantageous
- Ability to manage behavior effectively and foster a supportive atmosphere for all athletes
