JOB SUMMARY:
FT NIGHTS
Works under the direction of the Director of Nursing and/or the Assistant Director of Nursing. Participates in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care, within the objectives, standards, and policies of the department and within the parameters of his or her preparation. Cooperates with the members of the nursing staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provides direct and individualized nursing care to an assigned group of residents based on the application of scientific principles.
- Shares responsibility for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care plans and nursing care.
- Participates in team conferences, sharing knowledge, information, and ideas among team members.
- Prepares, administers, and records medications in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications by a licensed nurse.
- Performs more-complex nursing activities as competence increases.
- Participates in emergency care.
- Communicates frequently with the team leader regarding residents' physical and mental conditions.
- Records information concisely, accurately, and completely.
- Identifies and utilizes appropriate channels of communication.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Floats as requested by the team leader and/or supervisor/staffing coordinator.
- Assists in the orientation of new personnel when requested.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Completion of a formal education program in practical nursing.
- Current state licensure.
- One year of clinical practice preferred.
