What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full Time Preschool/PreK Teacher position at Friends Childcare?
At Friends Childcare, we believe children learn and grow best through play; Providing nurturing, challenging, and loving care to support this exploration is our role as educators.
We are seeking a motivated, energetic, caring teacher to join our Preschool/PreK team! This position is full time and year round (will consider part time for qualified candidates).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Early Childhood or related field.
- EEC teacher certification.
- Experience teaching children 2.9-5yrs old.
- Experience planning and executing curriculum that fosters social/emotional, cognitive, physical development.
- Knowledge of child development and emergent curriculum.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills.
- Experience with student observations, developmental summary reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
- Flexibility in schedule. Our current center hours are 8am-5:30pm. Full time staff works 9hr shifts with 1hr break within those hours.
Job responsibilities include:
- Provide a nurturing, stimulating, loving environment along with co or assistant teacher.
- Plan and implement weekly play-based, age-appropriate curriculum.
- Communicate with families daily about their child's day, communicate with other staff and supervisors
- Perform assessments and conferences twice a year.
- Document children's learning and progress in a portfolio format.
- Maintain classroom organization and cleanliness.
- Attend monthly staff meetings and professional development.
