The Staff Education Associate initiates the planning and implementation of staff orientation and education for the Nursing Department and to a limited degree in other departments of the Home. Has a thorough knowledge of the principles of geriatric nursing.

- Provides education to CNAs to promote excellence in quality of care and quality of life of Members.
- Assists CNA’s in completing required in-service hours.
- Help create a workplace where team members are motivated to do their best work while feeling valued, safe, and appreciated.
- Help create a highly competent workforce that is best prepared to provide excellent, compassionate care and services always.
- Impact retention in a positive manner by building relationships and providing resources and guidance to our team members.
- Act as a partner to Managers and Supervisors as we continue to build and develop our workforce.
- Identify areas of improvement in our quality of care and services.
- Offer assistance in developing skills that allow the individual to cope with unknown or uncomfortable situations.
- Identify barriers to employee and brainstorm ways to overcome them.
- Provides education on the policies of The Friendly Home, and the Nursing Policies and Procedures as directed by the Staff Education Supervisor.
- Promotes quality assurance and evaluates effectiveness of education programs and assures that programs are meeting needs of the staff.
- Records attendance of educational programs on an individual nursing assistant's record.
- Assists in the evaluation of work performance of nursing personnel.
- Assists with the completion of quality audits in the department.
- Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
- Performs other duties as required by Staff Education Supervisor, Director of Health Services, or Administration from time-to-time.
- Dependable, report to work on-time for every schedule shift (ready to work at beginning - start of shift) and work full schedule shifts unless physically unable or pre-approved Paid Time Off (PTO) which includes personal and vacation.
- Willing and able to work overtime and weekends as required by the position and/or approved by management.
- Have reliable transportation to and from work.
- Must be clean and neat in appearance and have a “friendly” service-oriented demeanor and supports Culture of Excellence initiatives by interactions with co-workers and/or Members.
- Abide by work-related / job procedures and organization policies; (refer to the Employee Handbook).
- Education: Certified Nursing Assistant; Bachelors Degree in related field.
- Experience: Two to three years of progressive nursing home experience.
- Skills: Ability to meet the public and participate in professional programs.
- Licenses / Certifications: Current CNA Certification
- Work is performed in a clean, well lit, “Home-Like,” nursing Home setting.
- Employee must be able to perform essential job functions (reasonable accommodation may apply).

- Must meet the general health requirements set forth by Friendly Home.
- May be requested to assist in the evacuation of Members or perform other procedures to protect the safety of Members, visitors and team members during emergency situations.
Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
