Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shift Leader to oversee daily operations in our fast-paced restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. As a Shift Leader, you will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring food safety, and maintaining high standards of food preparation and service. This is a part time 2nd shift position. If you are looking for more hours we can accommodate by also giving you position hours.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of team members during shifts to ensure smooth operations.
- Train, mentor, and develop staff in food preparation, customer service, and operational procedures.
- Manage inventory control and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Operate POS systems (Aloha POS or Micros POS) for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations throughout the kitchen and dining areas.
- Assist in cooking and food production as required during peak hours.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues to maintain high satisfaction levels.
- Monitor shift performance metrics to ensure operational goals are met.
- Collaborate with management on budgeting, scheduling, and overall restaurant management.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a quick service or fast food restaurant environment; fine dining experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of food handling practices, culinary techniques, and kitchen management.
- Previous supervisory or management experience in the food industry is required.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on hospitality.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience with training & development of team members is preferred.
- Familiarity with cash handling procedures and inventory management systems.
- Strong leadership abilities with effective communication skills to motivate staff.
- Knowledge of budgeting practices within a restaurant setting is advantageous.
