Role Description The Surgical Technologist is a part-time, on-site role based in Old Town Scottsdale, AZ. This role involves preparing the operating room for procedures, including setting up sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment according to surgical protocols. The Surgical Technologist assists the surgeon and clinical team during surgical procedures by anticipating needs, managing instruments, and maintaining a sterile field. Daily responsibilities include verifying patient and procedure information, participating in pre-operative and post-operative room turnover, and ensuring all equipment is cleaned, organized, and ready for use. The role also includes collaborating with nursing and medical staff, adhering to infection control and safety standards, and supporting a smooth, efficient surgical schedule.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency in surgical technology, including sterile technique and instrumentation management.
- Experience working in an operating room setting, with an understanding of workflow, safety, and infection control.
- Skills in surgical assisting, including anticipating surgeon needs.
- Foundational knowledge of medicine and surgery relevant to perioperative care and patient safety.
- Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program; current certification (CST or equivalent) preferred.
- Current BLS/CPR certification and familiarity with OSHA and regulatory requirements.
- Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and ability to stand for extended periods.
- Effective communication skills, reliability in a team-based environment, and commitment to patient-centered care.
- Prior experience in plastic surgery or ambulatory surgery centers is a plus.
