    Position Title:
    Cook Manager at Fridley Middle School

    Job Summary: This position is responsible for participating, overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the building's nutritional service operations including delivery of nutritious and appealing meals to customers; preparing, cooking and serving customers; and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. This position is also responsible for ordering supplies, managing inventory, maintaining food safety standards, serving customers, and supporting building nutritional services staff in accordance with USDA National School Breakfast and Lunch programs regulations. Fridley Public Schools serves a richly diverse student population, and this role plays a vital part in creating a welcoming, inclusive experience for all families. The successful candidate will bring strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced school environment. This position requires effective communication with families from a wide range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds and a commitment to equitable, responsive service.

    Schedule:
    7.75 hours/day M-F School year Onsite work

    Salary Range:
    Step 1 at $25.75/hr to Step 5 at $28.64/hr, placement will vary depending on education and experience. View salary grid on the respective bargaining unit listed above, accessible via our Master Agreements page

    Minimum Qualifications
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Level 4 certification is preferred (must be obtained within 1 year of appointment)
    • Valid Serv Safe or Minnesota Certified Food Protection Manager (must be obtained within 1 year of appointment)
    • Three years of previous quantity food service experience, preferably in a school or healthcare setting
    • Two years of previous supervisory or managerial experience preferably in a school or healthcare setting
    • Knowledgeable in accurately operating the point-of-sale system during meal service or at a la Carte sales.

    • Ability to utilize computer software programs including Microsoft, Google, student information software, vendor ordering systems, and nutritional software
