Product Development Engineering Manager
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a small team of direct reports—assign priorities, remove roadblocks, and coach day-to-day execution to deliver new products and improvements on schedule.
- Serve as the resident expert on internal manufacturing process capabilities to ensure designs are practical and production-ready.
- Lead engineering projects that support the broader product portfolio and business strategy—owning scope, timing, risk, and technical outcomes.
- Create, read, and interpret engineering drawings to drive clear specifications and effective design intent.
- Manage the product lifecycle including design, prototyping, testing, and PPAP—driving disciplined execution and strong technical documentation.
- Represent Product Engineering in cross-functional problem solving and continuous improvement to improve quality, cost, and speed-to-market.
- Support customers, suppliers, and internal teams with technical information—serving as the engineering point of contact for product/process quality concerns and maintaining regular supplier communication.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferred) or related field.
- 3-5 years experience in Product Engineering.
- Previous management or supervisory experience preferred.
- Technical knowledge of automotive components.
- Proficiency with 3D CAD tools—preferably Siemens NX or SolidWorks.
- Experience managing product lifecycle from concept through launch.
- Strong communication, project management, and collaboration skills with the ability to manage workload in a team environment.
Salary : $80,000 - $100,000
