R&D Manager
Responsibilities
- Product & Process Development: Responsible for designing, improving, and maintaining new and existing products and processes that are cost-efficient, manufacturable, and reliable.
- Market Research: Research markets for various applications of spunbond technology nonwoven fabrics in the automotive, building materials, construction, and industrial sectors.
- Material Innovation: Research all available raw materials, fibers, and chemicals to identify opportunities for product improvement and cost reduction.
- Technical Leadership: Provide guidance and expertise to business champions, sales & marketing teams, and customers on both new and existing products.
- Project Reporting: Track and report project progress and milestones to management for visibility and alignment.
- Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Textile Chemistry, Polymer or Fiber Chemistry.
- 3 years Management/Supervision experience in R&D
- Minimum 5 years experience in an applications or product development environment in one or more of the following areas: textile finishing, spunbound processes, spunlaced, dying and/or coating (PVC and/or PU), adhesives, filter materials, fiber spinning (staple, filament, spunbond or melt blown) or polymer extrusion.
- Nonwovens and specifically spunbound experience is highly desired
- Experience working in Customer Driven Roles or Customer Plants strongly preferred
- Experience with Stage-Gate Product Development Process, Statistical Data Analysis, and/or Design of Experiment. Ability to lead an innovation process
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Must possess the ability to effectively communicate with multiple levels of the organization
