Position Summary
The Division of Teacher Education at Fresno Pacific University offers the Multiple Subjects and Single Subject credential programs, accredited by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC), and the Master of Arts in Teaching. The credential programs are offered at the university’s main campus in Fresno and at regional campuses in Merced, Bakersfield, and Visalia. The Division of Teacher Education is committed to providing candidates a strong foundation in educational theory and pedagogical skills in the context of the Christian faith. Candidates’ field experiences as either student teachers or independent teachers within K-12 schools are also an integral part of the credential programs. The programs maintain a strong reputation within the educational community of the Central Valley as graduates are known for their excellent preparation to teach and serve in the diverse schools.
Essential Functions
- Experienced educators who serve multiple roles in support of credential candidates and the credential programs.
- Coaches who communicate regularly with candidates, observe candidates in teaching placement, and provide feedback to candidates as they develop their teaching practice.

Assessors who:
- maintain ongoing conversation with university and school site personnel regarding candidate performance;
- evaluate candidate performance; and
- document candidate achievement of program requirements.
- Advocates who provide support and facilitate conversation as needed for the candidate within the program and at the placement school site.
- Demonstrate a commitment to serving and inspiring students in an academic context that integrates your Christian faith and learning.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- California teaching credential including certification to teach English Language Learners;
- Successful K-12 teaching experience;
- Commitment to the Christian faith and the University’s mission of Christ-centered teaching and learning and involvement in a local church.
Preferred:
- Earned master’s or terminal degree in education or closely related field
- Familiarity with Common Core State Standards and current policies in education
- Successful experience coaching teachers or providing professional development.
Environmental Conditions:
- Indoors in a normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, fumes, vibrations, and temperature changes at least eighty percent (80%) of the time.
- Frequent computer use at a workstation, up to eight hours per day.
- Frequently work at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.
- Drive personal or University vehicles to appointments.
- Public contact position requiring professional apparel, personal hygiene, and grooming.
Physical Demands:
- This position typically functions indoors in an office environment with light to moderate noise associated with business office equipment. The position may involve travel for meetings and events.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: remain in a stationary position 80 % of the time, be able to move about inside the office to access file cabinets/office machinery etc., operate a computer and keyboard and other office productivity machinery such as calculators/copy machines/printers. The employee is occasionally required to position self to reach items on the floor and in high cabinetry.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Employee must be able to communicate with others to exchange information including both over the telephone and in-person communication with callers and community members and be able to read a computer screen and paper documents.

Compensation is based on highest completed degree level:
Master's degree: Anticipated pay per unit $811.51, $23.97 per hour
Terminal degree: Anticipated pay per unit $977.98, $28.82 per hour
