The Center for Community Transformation is a community-based organization anchored at Fresno Pacific University with the purpose of equipping leadership for the economic, social, and spiritual transformation of Central Valley communities. It hosts several community initiatives to that end. (See cctfresno.org)

The role of Program Coordinator will support the CCT Executive Director, in supporting all activities under CCT’s Community Engagement Department. The position reports to the CCT Executive Director who oversees all community engagement programs, under both Community Schools and Impact Labs initiatives. Programs under these initiatives include all training programs and workshops, as well as ongoing technical assistance and coordination of support for community engagement participants, which largely focused on non-profits and schools. The Community Engagement Program Coordinator will support the Executive Director in their work in the community through speaking, community relations, networking, and program support, as well as event and conference presence. This role involves supporting the CCT in recurring contact with members of the community, community leaders, churches, community benefit organizations, university and seminary personnel, interns, and students, requiring strong abilities to relate with people across the lines of class and race.

Essential Functions

  • Help recruit non-profit and community participants across CCT programs.
  • Oversee the successful execution, evaluation, and documentation of outcomes of all programs under all Community Schools and Impact Labs initiatives.
  • Provide support to the various grant and contract-related activities in all Community Schools and Impact Labs initiatives.
  • Assist the Executive Director, as needed, in all program development, community relations, grant compliance, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with CCT staff for the success of all programs, as needed.
  • Manage contractual relationships with 3rd party vendors, subject matter experts, and contractors.
  • Participate in the curation of support for Community Schools and Ministry Labs program participants for successful completion and ongoing development.
  • Be a visible, public presence in the community in general, representing the CCT and university among other institutions of faith and/or good will in the San Joaquin Valley.
  • Cultivate intentional relationships with other community leaders, handling requests, being responsive through multiple mediums, and creating partnerships.
  • Promote, welcome, and facilitate student and community participation in all CCT trainings.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to serving and inspiring students and colleagues in a context of a Christian University, integrating your Christian faith into your role and responsibilities.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Excellent verbal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Maturity and ability to assume responsibility for the execution of training events.
  • Independent judgment, discretion, and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Strong skill sets in group facilitation in ethnic-specific and class diverse settings and faith-based networking.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in design thinking, applied science and/or asset-based community development.
  • Experience in relating to diverse, low-income communities and familiarity with their needs.
  • Strong organizational ability.
  • Fluency in digital platforms & tolls (Google & Microsoft Suites, CRMs, data management, etc.)
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work under pressure, exuding a mature demeanor while multi-tasking in a deadline-oriented environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team, as well as an independent contributor
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretionary skills in determining when to act independently and when to consult management prior to taking action.


Preferred:

  • Alignment with John Perkins’ Christian Community Development Association, the Fikkert/Chalmers Centers’ When Helping Hurts philosophy, Business as Mission (BAM) and or Conscious Capitalism.
  • Experience working among low-and-moderate income (LMI) populations.
  • Training in nonprofit or organizational development.
  • Fund development experience
  • Bi-lingual (fluent Spanish)


Environmental Conditions:

  • Indoors in a normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, fumes, vibrations, and temperature changes at least eighty percent (80%) of the time.
  • Frequent computer use at a workstation, up to eight hours per day.
  • Frequently work at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.
  • Drive personal or University vehicles to appointments.
  • Public contact position requiring professional apparel, personal hygiene, and grooming.


Physical Demands:

  • This position typically functions indoors in an office environment with light to moderate noise associated with business office equipment. The position may involve travel for meetings and events.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: remain in a stationary position 80 % of the time, be able to move about inside the office to access file cabinets/office machinery etc., operate a computer and keyboard and other office productivity machinery such as calculators/copy machines/printers. The employee is occasionally required to position self to reach items on the floor and in high cabinetry.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Employee must be able to communicate with others to exchange information including both over the telephone and in-person communication with callers and community members and be able to read a computer screen and paper documents.

University Information

$45,780 to $53,040 is the annual salary for this role and reflects what Fresno Pacific University reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to compensation, FPU offers a competitive benefits package.
