SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises assigned staff.
SUMMARY
Under general direction, assists the school principal in Educational Services, assist in responsibility for curriculum development and implementation, instructional delivery models, evaluation and assist with professional development for leading, teaching and learning. Assist individual school leaders, teachers and support staff in matters affecting curriculum, instruction, leadership and professional development related to teaching and learning. Assist in responsibility for implementation of curriculum, standards, assessment, and evaluation. Shares supervisory responsibility for professional staff with school principal.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assist in the development of curriculum aligned to Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and support of teaching practices to support attainment of CCSS and to prepare students for college, career and community.
Assist in the vetting and implementation of open source, technology-based instructional support materials and ensure equity of access through effective implementation of materials.
Assist in the administration and supervision of professional development, curriculum and instruction related to Common Core State Standards.
Develop, facilitate and evaluate professional development to improve professional practices throughout the agency.
Assist with implementation of the Common Core State Standards.
Plan and assist with the development and acquisition of core instructional materials.
Assist school with the implementation of curriculum, effective instructional pedagogy and systemic program implementation.
Disseminate information and coordinate changes in the instructional program as reflected in current brain research.
Assist in the preparation and presentation of appropriate periodic reports to the Board of Commissioners related to teaching and learning goals and objectives.
Coordinate the attainment of student competency with the testing and research programs.
Coordinate appropriate committees in planning, development, and revision of site- and agency wide professional development, curriculum guides, course outlines, and instructional materials.
Keep abreast of curricular innovation, disseminate research and descriptive materials and conduct field testing.
Assist with communication, problem solving, and interpretation of policies and procedures for school personnel, education partners and members of the community.
Assist with the 9-12th grade component of the district’s assessment program including State and local assessments.
Responsible for the performance evaluation of assigned certificated and classified employees.
Responsible for supervising assigned staff, interns and volunteers; recruitment, performance management and other personnel processes.
Oversee daily operations of educational programs focusing on pedagogy, learning environment, and alignment to Common Core State Standards (CCSS)
Develop, implement, and monitor student support plans based upon data indicators and individual students’ needs.
Engage educational partners as needed to meet the mission and goals of SOUL Charter High School.
Plan and support strategies consistent with the vision of SOUL and established LEA goals.
Travels for agency business using reliable transportation.
Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.
Works evenings and weekends as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required. Master’s Degree in a related field preferred.
- Valid California Administrative Services Credential required.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of (3) three years of teaching experience required.
- Minimum of (3) three years of direct staff supervision required.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience in the development of career education courses.
Previous experience in the development and implementation of an annual professional staff development plan.
Knowledge of principles and practices of school administration, and supervision of staff evaluations and training.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related business software.
Effective presentation, written and verbal communication skills
Effective interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
Knowledge of comprehensive organization, activities, goals and objectives on operations of High Schools.
Knowledge of Charter school law, administration, and applicable sections of the State Education Code and other applicable laws.
Knowledge of State and local curriculum requirements of FUSD Board of Trustees and District policies, procedures and regulations.
Willing to work non-traditional hours and days to meet the needs of this position.
Maintain valid California driver's license and the minimum auto insurance as required by state law, or reliable transportation. For those driving agency vehicles, must maintain insurability under agency policy.
Pass required background investigation including medical examination and TB clearance, acceptable criminal record statement, Department of Justice fingerprint clearance, and child abuse index clearance.
