The Fresno County Assessor-Recorder's Office invites applications for the position of Appraiser I. Incumbents perform real property appraisals for assessment purposes, including appraisals of land parcels, dwellings, and other building structures.

Minimum Qualifications

Education : Possession of a bachelor's degree that is acceptable within the United States' accredited college or university system.

License : Possession of a valid driver's license.

Certificate : Possession of a valid Appraiser Certificate issued by the State Board of Equalization (must be obtained prior to completion of the probationary period).

SELECTION PROCESS:

Pursuant to Fresno County Personnel Rule 4 - Selection Process, applicants may be required to complete an examination process and successful candidates will be placed on an employment list effective for a minimum of 3 months and certified in final rank order as vacancies occur.

  • Tentative Exam Dates: MAY 13-14, 2026
  • Tentative Interview Dates: JUNE 1-4, 2026

  • The eligible list for this recruitment may be extended up to 12 months, and may be used to fill both extra-help and permanently allocated positions.
  • Individuals selected for extra-help appointment may be transitioned to a permanently allocated position at a later date as authorized by the Fresno County Personnel Rules.

REASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONS:

Positions in this classification are in Medical Group II - Moderate Physical Activity (Personnel Rule 8). This group includes positions which require moderate physical effort using arms, legs, back, and trunk in frequent lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects weighing (or offering resistance equivalent to) 10-25 pounds, and occasionally over 25 pounds. Generally, bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, reaching, as well as standing and walking are involved.
