The Role

The Lead Installation Technician is responsible for leading Freshwater’s installation efforts across client projects while remaining actively involved in hands-on installation work. This is a working lead role, requiring the individual to perform installation tasks alongside their crew while providing on-site leadership, technical guidance, and quality oversight.

This individual will report to Freshwater’s Project Management team and will need to have a strong passion for safety, training and development, and a commitment to installation excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing and conducting local on-site client digital signage installations

• Actively performing hands-on installation work during projects, particularly on complex or high-visibility installs

• Leading on-site and remote installations with third-party installation partners

• Collaborating with business development and project management teams to scope installation efforts and navigate installation challenges

• Managing multiple installation projects effectively and efficiently

• Establishing expectations and motivating crews to consistently meet or exceed quality, schedule, and safety goals

• Demonstrating the ability to obtain, organize, and manage materials effectively, including development of as-built documentation

• Managing Freshwater’s warehouse activities, including staging equipment, managing inventory, and assisting with shipping and receiving

• Demonstrating excellent customer relations through effective problem-solving and on-site communication

• Forecasting job costs accurately, including labor, materials, and rental equipment

• Completing basic administrative documentation in a timely manner

• Supporting client training and handoff as required

Requirements

• Experience working in the audio-visual or digital signage space

• Proven ability to lead crews while remaining hands-on in the field

• Strong attention to detail

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and installation documentation

• Ability to help guide client installation decisions and provide technical recommendations

• Ability to manage overnight or off-hours installations when required by the client

• Able to lift up to 40–50 lbs regularly; with the ability to lift heavier items with assistance or lifting equipment.

• Must be able to work on feet for prolonged periods while using tools and performing repetitive actions such as bending and stooping

• This role may require periodic overnight, off-hours, and out-of-town travel. Schedules vary based on project requirements and are communicated in advance whenever possible.

Helpful Skills & Experience

• Strong mechanical aptitude

• Electrical or low-voltage experience

• Strong communication and team leadership skills

• Comfort working in fast-paced, client-facing environments

Salary - $65,000-$80,000
