What are the responsibilities and job description for the Customer Service Associate - Cart Attendant+Cashier/ PT position at FRESHFIELDS JACKSONVILLE LLC?
SUMMARY:
Cashiers are responsible for conducting efficient, accurate, friendly transactions. Other duties like carts, assisting other departments, and cleaning are tasked to the team. Cashiers report directly to the Cash Team Lead, and may, at times, report to other department leaders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Cashiers are responsible for the execution of the following:
- Operation of the cash recycler
- Following the Cash Handling, Uniform, and other relevant policies
- Proper bagging of groceries (separating produce and raw meat, etc.)
- Surpassing minimum performance standards
- Retrieving customer carts from the parking lot
- Offering to get help to the car for any expectant mothers, handicapped, or elderly customers
- Memorizing and executing their “Top 5” duties
- Memorizing and executing all scripts an “customer interaction norms”
- Inspecting paper currency
- Requesting permission from the CTL to leave their station
- Various opening and closing tasks (including cleaning, marquee changes, signage checks, etc)
- Checking freshness of complimentary jalapeños
- Restating order totals to customers
- Communicating suggestions, needs, problems, or concerns to the CTL, CSS, or CSC.
- Executing “downtime priorities” (staying productive when traffic is slow)
- Cleaning customer restrooms
- Assisting stockers or other functions where they are deemed to be the most effective and efficient
- Floor safety sweeps
- Troubleshoot simple POS problems, when possible
- Reporting problems is a required part of each employee’s job
REASONING ABILITY & MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
The ability to relate to, and effectively interact with people on a personal level is requisite, as is the ability to identify and define problems, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Candidates must be able to exercise logical mathematical reasoning as it relates to currency.
WORKLOAD & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The average weekly workload may range from 10 - 25 hours for part-time positions, 26 – 44 hours for full-time positions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment will largely be indoors, where temperatures will regularly be near or below 65°F. There may be short intervals of outdoor work required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
