What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant- Events position at Fresh Wata?
We’re looking for a hands-on Senior Accountant to join our small but growing team in Las Vegas. This is an in-person role where you’ll have the chance to help shape the accounting function as the company scales.
You’ll handle the core accounting work for our multi-entity events business, including job costing, revenue recognition, multi-state sales tax, property tax, fixed assets, insurance audits, commissions, and cash-flow tracking. You’ll also oversee day-to-day A/R and A/P to keep everything running smoothly.
Beyond the numbers, we’re looking for someone who loves improving how things work. You’ll recommend policies and procedures, keep our SOPs up to date, and help identify and implement better systems or technology to boost efficiency, accuracy, and visibility across the department.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee A/R and A/P accuracy and processes (including day to day invoicing and payables processing)
- Handle month-end close, including intercompany reconciliations, for multiple entities
- Manage job costing, project financials and commission calculations
- Apply proper revenue recognition for events
- File and manage multi-state sales tax and property tax
- Maintain fixed assets ledgers
- Complete insurance audit requirements
- Manage deposits, transfers and cash balance requirements
- Recommend and document policies, procedures, and SOPs
- Lead or support system and technology improvements (QBO add-ons, automation tools, etc.)
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)
- CPA or progress toward CPA (preferred)
- 3 years of accounting experience, ideally in a fast-paced or project-based environment
- Strong QBO and Excel skills
- Comfortable in a small-team environment where you can make a real impact
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and excited about improving processes
