Overview
At Fresh Start Café, we’re more than just a coffee shop, we’re a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving our community with kindness, connection, and purpose. We’re looking for a passionate, community-minded individual to join our team and help us create a warm, welcoming environment for everyone who walks through our doors.
As part of our café team, you’ll do more than make great coffee — you’ll make a difference. You’ll provide excellent customer service, maintain a clean and positive workspace, and support our mission of giving back to the community.
We’re looking for someone with flexible availability, typically working around 2 shifts per week, with the ability to cover additional shifts when needed. Our ideal team member is dependable, adaptable, and willing to jump in to support the team when the schedule gets busy!
What you’ll do
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and snacks.
- Provide outstanding customer service by engaging with patrons, taking orders, and ensuring satisfaction
- Operate cash register efficiently to process transactions accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the café area, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Manage cash handling responsibilities with accuracy.
- Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment that fosters teamwork and enthusiasm.
Experience
- Previous barista or coffee shop experience is preferred, but not necessary.
- Excellent time management skills to handle busy periods efficiently and maintain excellent service.
- Strong interpersonal skills are essential as we strive to create a friendly, welcoming, and safe environment for all of our customers.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and food handling regulations.
- Experience in the food industry or food service environment is beneficial.

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
