Job Overview:
We are currently looking for an Embroidery Machine Operator/Screen Cleaner. You are responsible for working with our industrial machines (Tajima) to complete custom embroidery orders such as headwear, apparel, and other sporting good accessories. This position is fast paced, requires good hand/eye coordination and attention to detail. The successful candidate must work well within a team. Other responsibilities would include reclaiming inked screens for re-use. Standard, 15 - 30 part time, hours are within 9:00am – 5:00pm, Monday to Friday. Once trained and ready to be on your own hours are flexible through the week. This is a perfect position for a first job or ‘back-to-work’ parent. No experience required; we can train the right candidate!
Duties:
Responsible for operating a (2) Tajima single head embroidery machines and a heat press machine.
- Stage, hoop, and load product onto embroidery machines
- Reads and understands work order to determine item type, location & thread colours of embroidery design(s)
- Selects needle size and thread colours required for each order and draws it through machine guides and bobbin Monitor output quality and report irregularities
- Responsible for exceptional cleanliness of Embroidery machine & work area
- Responsible for communicating any issues regarding individual embroidery machine heads or logo issues on goods
- Responsible for maintaining the highest quality on all items produced
- Maintains efficient and safe operation of multi-head embroidery machinery
- Retrieve designs from the computer and enter it into the embroidery machine
- Ensures that daily/weekly/monthly targets are met for quality, productivity & lead time with minimal misprints
- Performs daily/weekly/monthly machine maintenance & repair
- Communicate with Embroidery Supervisor to reorder materials & supplies
- Ability to operate a pressure washer.
- You will be around chemicals but all face and hand protection is provided.
- Will be cleaning used ink and emulsion from screens in prepsration for re-use.
- Must maintain organized and clean area.
- Align and place designs to be heat pressed on apparel such as shirts, hats, bags etc.
- Counting in daily stock and neatly separating to specific jobs.
- Cleaning ink/emulsion from screens.
- Screen prep such as coating, taping, spot treating.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15.0 – 30.0 per week
