What are the responsibilities and job description for the Molding Material Handler position at FRESH PRODUCTS LLC?
GENERAL SUMMARY
Responsible for maintaining production on a number of plastic injection molding machines (including auxiliary equipment). Their duties include, but are not restricted to, material handling, grinder unloading, blending material and relieving operators. They may also make labels for cartons.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Understands and follows all established safety, health, quality and company policies, procedures and recognized practices.
2. Follows daily directions assigned by molding shift lead to maximize production efficiencies.
3. Relieve operators during the shift.
4. When relieving an operator, they perform continuous quality inspection of parts produced from established quality standards.
5. Have the ability to provide back up support to the molding shift lead role.
6. Maintain work areas to acceptable safety and housekeeping standards.
7. Strong understanding of item code nomenclature system to effectively deliver and maintain the proper material at the machines for the mold in the machine. In other words, Wave 3-D material (X3680xx) is being delivered to and used at a machine with a Wave 3-D mold.
8. Ensure machines do not go down lacking material.
9. Follow all standard operating practices for material handling.
10. Stage material for the incoming shift.
11. Monitors the production schedule and changes material accordingly.
12. Able to remove hung up parts in the mold and restart the press.
13. Does not make machine control adjustments.
14. Assists the Injection Molding Shift Leader in all ways required.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1. Operates electric pallet jack, shrink wrapper, machine loaders and gaylord sweepers.
2. Can clean out a jammed grinder.
3. Ability to maintain regular, predictable and punctual attendance.
4. Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.
5. Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
6. Communicates effectively: conveys facts and information clearly both verbally and written
7. Collaborates well with others: proactively contributes to group objectives; volunteers to help others.
8. Encourages all molding associates to function as a team and models these behaviors.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred
2. A minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
1. Reports to Production Shift Supervisor.
2. Interacts and partners regularly with shop floor personnel, production manager, maintenance, shipping, and supply chain staff.
WORKING CONDITIONS
HSD/GED required
Ability to lift consistently up to 60lbs.
Ability to climb ladders and/or stairs.
Able to work daily overtime and/or weekends when needed.
