This position will focus on our internal accounting operations. The successful candidate will work across the enterprise to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting and sound internal controls.

This fantastic opportunity is a full-time position reporting directly to the Controller of the company. It is based at our office in Perrysburg, Ohio. Benefits include paid time off, 401(k) with employer matching, Medical, Dental, and Vision insurances, disability insurance, and life insurance.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports, to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to defined accounting standards.
• Complete monthly closing/reconciliation activities, ensuring journal entries and the general ledger are accurate.
• Review records of accounts and entries into proper accounts. Work with business to ensure accuracy.
• Assist in Intercompany Accounting at month-end, ensuring transactions between entities are accurate and complete
• Own accounting for Fixed Assets and CIP, overseeing capital project spend
• Support internal control framework by maintaining adequate supporting documentation, understanding and adhering to accounting standards, and complying with internal processes and controls.
• Lead the tax compliance process (for example sales tax, CAT tax, market place facilitator tracking) ensuring all requirements are known and met and reporting is timely
  
  

Key Success Factors Include

• Understanding of fundamental finance and accounting concepts: GAAP, financial statements, etc. while still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.
• Analyzes possible solutions using standard procedures to solve problems that may arise.
• Proficiency with systems: Strong MS Excel skills required, prior experience with Power BI a plus.
• Ability to multi-task and make progress on multiple priorities concurrently, keeping them on schedule.
• Excellent communication skills – a natural ability to talk to and connect with people to get results
• Outstanding attention to detail – ability to work with numbers and deliver results with reliability and accuracy
• Drive for results - Self-motivated individual who does not require a lot of oversight to get the job done

Defined Performance Metrics

• Ensure sales and use tax compliance that prevents the company from incurring penalties from audit findings
• Deliver complete, clean account reconciliations
• Own Fixed Assets and CIP accounting, including ROI post-mortem for major projects
• Achieve month-end and quarter-end timelines and deliver results within stated deadlines
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelors’ degree in accounting
• 2-5 years’ work experience in accounting is preferred but not required.
• Intermediate skill set in Microsoft Excel
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Outlook
• PowerBI experience a plus
