What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Dietitian position at Fresh Meals On Wheels of Sheboygan County?
Summary
Meals On Wheels of Sheboygan County, Inc. is seeking a registered dietitian to assist our food service team in creating diet-specific menu options for the fragile population we serve. This can be either an in-house or contracted position, with up to 15 hours a month. Potential for additional hours to provide Medically Tailored Meal nutrition services for Medicaid-enrolled participants.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Collaborate monthly with Kitchen Manager.
- Oversee nutrients for menu options.
- Ability to conduct nutrition analysis of menu choices and recipes.
- Ensure weekly menu options meet or exceed state and federal recommendations.
- Designate heart healthy and carb control meal selections for each menu cycle.
- Nutrition consults with meal recipients.
Minimum Qualifications
- Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) with current Commission on Dietetic Registration credential.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in Wisconsin.
- Knowledge of therapeutic diets.
- Experience working with older adults or medically vulnerable populations.
Other Requirements
- Experience in congregate dining, Meals on Wheels programs, private nutritional counseling, hospitals, long-term care or senior nutrition.
- Knowledge of Older Americans Act nutrition requirements.
- Experience working with food service operations.
- Experience in billing and coding for dietitian services.
- Able to submit claims to insurance for reimbursement.
- Comfortable working with physicians.
