Position Details
Job Title: Evening Assistant Kitchen Manager
Reports to: Culinary Director, Operations Manager, Chefs
Classification: Full Time Position
Location: 185 Talbot Ave, Dorchester MA 02124
Work Hours: 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM
Days: Tuesday – Saturday
Compensation: $ $30.00 per hour, depending on experience

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced kitchen manager to join our culinary leadership team. Your role will to be to assist in leading a strong and talented culinary team in the execution of daily restaurant and catering orders. The ideal candidate has previous leadership experience working in a fast-paced kitchen and is not afraid to roll up their sleeves. They take pride in creating an organized environment, maintaining standard operating procedures and upholding kitchen sanitation. Must be ServeSafe Certified. This position has the opportunity for career advancement and growth with the company.
Main Responsibilities
1) Kitchen Organization & Sanitation
● Take accountability for the maintenance and organization of cold and dry storage. This includes receiving and putting away food orders.
● Take ownership in maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen facility. Lead the kitchen team in sanitation procedures.
● Maintain food safety standards such as temperature logs and FIFO (First In, First Out).
● Assist kitchen team in storing production items at end of night and organizing catering orders for next day delivery.
● Take daily inventory of paper goods, cold storage, dry storage and beverage program.
● Reduce food waste by maintaining production and usage logs and weighing and portioning food for service.
● Co-lead nightly closing procedures with Evening Chef.
● Maintain strong verbal and written communication with our culinary leadership team.
2) Kitchen and Restaurant Coordination
● Coordinate with front of house team and back of house team to ensure seamless food service.
● Assure both teams have the supplies and inventory needed to be successful.
● Take a hands-on approach during peak ticket rushes.
3) Direct Leadership
● Work collaboratively with our leadership team to make sure the kitchen continues to be an efficient, energetic and welcoming environment focused on making great food.
Position´s Requirements
● A minimum of 3 years' proven experience in a similar role.
● Must have core computer skills including emailing, printing, and online food ordering.
● Must have a culinary background, demonstrated experience in leading teams in high-paced environments.
● Must be ServSafe Food Certified with a strong background in food safety and kitchen organization.
● Must be able to lift 40lbs and stand on feet for long hours.
