Job Summary:
The Refrigeration Maintenance Specialist is responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, repair, replacement, and modification of refrigeration equipment, water treatment systems, hydraulic systems, air compressors, and other related systems. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work effectively in a team setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, replace, and perform preventative maintenance inspections on refrigeration equipment, chilled water systems, hydraulics, wastewater systems, and air compressors.
- Maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency.
- Operate computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and demonstrate proficiency.
- Effectively communicate with production and other mechanics to identify problematic areas, provide feedback, and support through data collection and analysis.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience with ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with cooling processes, refrigeration, vacuum pumps, compressors, condensers, purging, and water treatment.
- Familiarity with preventive/predictive based maintenance.
- Knowledge of electrical power maintenance (480V) and process controls troubleshooting (PLC level to device level).
