Job Summary
Job Summary
The Fremont High School Dance Coach/Advisor manages a comprehensive year round dance program. The dance team, the Featherettes, has been a part of the Fremont student experience for 70 years. In the fall, the team performs at halftime of Fremont home football games and also at school rallies. The fall season is dedicated to preparation for school performances, team building and dance skill development. Towards the end of the football season, the dance team transitions to their competition season. The dance coach/advisor will prepare the team for their competition season which typically includes 3-4 local competitions and culminates in a national competition.
Requirements / Qualifications
*Knowledge of dance technique, and skill development across levels with an ability to develop performance quality *Creation of practice schedules which align with short and long term goals *Financial management of budgeting for team costs like choreography, travel, and costumes *Aptitude for communication to students, parents, and school stakeholders *Ability to build and sustain a positive, inclusive, and team first culture aligned with school values *Ensure adherence to district, state, and athletic/activity policies *Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules, competition, preparedness, deadlines, and multiple priorities - High School Diploma - Once hired, coaches must have fingerprint clearance, a current (negative) TB test, CPR, First Aid, Basic Water Safety (for water sports only), complete four online coach courses with the National ASEP registry ("Fundamentals of Coaching," "Sudden Cardiac Arrest," "Concussion Certification" and "Heat Illness Prevention") along with various Keenan training modules as required.
