Fremont School District 79 is seeking a Social Worker for the 2026-2027 school year.
REPORTS TO: Building Principal/ Director of Student Services
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Illinois Professional Educator License;
- School Social Work Endorsement; and
- Master's Degree in Social Work with specialization in School Social Work.
POSITION SUMMARY:
To help students resolve such personal, emotional, and social problems that interfere with their adjustment to school and their capacity to benefit from educational programs.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides crisis intervention as needed.
- Completes the social developmental study component of case study evaluations and re-evaluations.
- Maintains accurate and sufficient record of services provided to students.
- Consults and collaborates with classroom teachers and other school personnel.
- Provides supports to parents, including parent education and supporting parent access to community resources.
- Acts as a liaison between school and community agencies.
- Contributes to social/emotional curriculum.
- Attends and is an active participant in Problem Solving Teams and Multidisciplinary Conferences.
- Provides in-service to school staff, parents, and community on social/emotional issues.
- Provides direct service in individual or group settings to students identified as having personal, social or emotional problems that impact on educational performance.
- Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Student Services or the Principal.
