Qualifications :

  • Minimum Master's Degree in Education Administration or equivalent
  • Have or be eligible for a Nebraska Administrative and Supervisory Certificate with Superintendent endorsement
  • Have a minimum of 3 years of successful building level administration

Compensation : Commensurate upon experience and education

JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE : Assistant Superintendent of Business Operations

REQUIREMENTS : Education Level :

  • Master's Degree Required, Master's preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Certification / Licensure :

  • Superintendent Endorsement
  • Experience Desired :

  • Experience in business, finance, and managerial roles related to public education
  • Teaching and / or Educational Administrative experience preferred.
  • Other Requirements :

  • Twelve month work year
  • Working knowledge of school finance, laws, and regulations related to the business and operation of a school district.
  • REPORTS TO : Superintendent

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

    The essential functions of each employee's position includes (1) regular, dependable in-person attendance on the job; (2) the ability to perform the identified tasks and to possess and utilize the identified knowledge, skills, and abilities and to perform the identified work activities; and (3) the ability to perform the physical requirements of their specific job description.

    Basic :

  • Oversee and manage annual budget, payroll, finance, purchasing, nutrition services, transportation, technology, and custodial / maintenance functions of the District.
  • Frequent :

  • Serve as the District's chief financial officer.
  • Develop and maintain the District's operating budget.
  • Report financial information to the Board of Education at their monthly meeting.
  • Supervise the district treasurer, accounting and accounts receivable.
  • Prepare all negotiations materials and serve as the chief negotiator.
  • Serve as the District's liaison at the Legislature.
  • Administer the budget control system.
  • Oversee accounts payable and maintenance of records for fixed asset accounting system.
  • Oversee the District's payroll function.
  • Supervise all employee benefit administration, develop specifications, and bid employee benefits.
  • Develop long range financial plans for the District operations.
  • Develop specifications for bidding purchases and performance contracts.
  • Supervise the Directors of Nutrition Services, Transportation, Facilities, Technology, and Student Services
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Climatic Environment : Primary work environment is a heated / air-conditioned building, and at times, the work environment may not be air-conditioned.
