REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Wyoming PTSB Certification as an Educational Diagnostician, Psychological Technician, Special Education Teacher, or Related Service Provider
POSITION SUMMARY
To provide case management services to buildings to insure procedural and substantive compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the building administrator and staff, as requested, prior to and/or during the pre-referral process of children suspected of having a disability.
- Act as Case Manager for children referred for a multidisciplinary evaluation and for children qualified for Special Education. Perform these duties in accordance with the Wyoming and School District Rules and Regulations Governing Services for Children with Disabilities.
- Assign and collect appropriate assessments and data on students and compile and accurately interpret them or when appropriate send them on to others for interpretation.
- Complete and maintain accurate, updated records in compliance with record keeping requirements.
- Act as IEP Chairperson performing duties in accordance with the Wyoming and School District Rules and Regulations Governing Services for Children with Disabilities.
- Track review of placement, annual review meetings, and three year re-evaluations for special education students.
- Monitor progress of special education students as indicated on their IEPs.
- Monitor teacher and related service provider documentation on student progress on annual goals and short term objectives.
- Keep records and notify the central office of any discarded/missing equipment with district bar code numbers.
- Schedule tours for new SPED students with the school Social Workers and to SPED students transitioning between buildings within the district.
- Consult with regular classroom teachers, special education teachers, and related service providers to assist special education students.
- Ensure special education students are receiving services as designated on their IEPs.
- Comply with program procedures and local, state, and federal special education policies.
- Maintain ethical and confidentiality standards as defined by local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
- Act as administrator designee, as requested, during child study team meetings and other meetings concerning special education students and/or services
- Cooperate in following district and building policies, procedures, time schedules, and duty assignments.
- Assume active participation in in-service and other programs for professional improvement.
- Perform such other duties assigned from time to time by the Director of Special Services or the building principal.

EVALUATION
Performance on this job will be evaluated by the Special Services Director in accordance with school board policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of certified or classified personnel.
SALARY SCHEDULE
This position will be paid according to the approved Certified Professional Salary Schedule.

School Year Calendar, unless otherwise assigned by the supervisor.
CLEARANCES
Employment is contingent on a local, state, and federal criminal background clearance.
