Job Overview
Fremont Christian Early Childhood Center is seeking a caring, dependable, and energetic Teacher Assistant/Floater to join our team! This position supports our infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms by assisting lead teachers, providing quality care, and helping maintain a safe, nurturing, and Christ-centered learning environment.
This is a part-time position (approximately 20 hours per week) with the opportunity to grow into a full-time role. Applicants must be flexible and willing to work in different classrooms as needed, with availability for afternoon and closing shifts.
Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers with daily classroom activities and routines.
- Supervise and actively engage with children during play, learning, meals, and outdoor time.
- Provide a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for children.
- Help with diapering, toileting, handwashing, and other personal care routines.
- Support classroom transitions, nap time, and snack/meal service.
- Follow all state licensing regulations and center policies.
- Communicate professionally with staff and families.
- Step into infant, toddler, or preschool classrooms as needed to maintain ratios and support the team.
- Perform light cleaning and classroom organization throughout the day.
- Help close classrooms and prepare for the next day.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous childcare experience preferred but not required.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and flexible.
- Comfortable working with children from infancy through preschool age.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Must pass required background checks and meet state licensing requirements.
Schedule
- Approximately 20 hours per week
- Typical hours: 11:30 AM – 5:45 PM or 3:00pm-5:45pm
- Monday–Friday
- Additional hours may be available as needed, with the opportunity to transition into a full-time position.
