Hours: Monday–Friday, 3:30 PM–5:45 PM or 3:30 PM–4:30 PM, can pick up other shifts as well
Position Summary
FCS Early Childhood Center is seeking caring, dependable, and Christ-centered After School Assistant Teachers to support our infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms. This part-time position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children and desires to make a positive impact in a Christian environment.
After School Assistant Teachers work alongside Lead Teachers to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging atmosphere where children feel loved, valued, and encouraged to grow socially, emotionally, physically, spiritually, and academically.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Teacher with afternoon classroom routines.
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play while ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Engage children in age-appropriate play, activities, and learning experiences.
- Help with diapering, toileting, handwashing, and other daily care routines as needed.
- Assist with snack time, classroom cleanup, and sanitizing toys and materials.
- Build positive, caring relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
- Model Christ-like kindness, patience, and respect in all interactions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
- Follow all licensing regulations and center policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director or Lead Teacher.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred (or currently enrolled in high school if age requirements are met).
- Experience working with young children is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Dependable, patient, energetic, and caring.
- Able to lift up to 40 pounds and actively participate in classroom activities.
- Must successfully complete all required background checks and state licensing requirements.
