What You’ll Do
Teach a double-dose Algebra course for 11th grade students who have not passed the Keystone and need support mastering Algebra I content. This role requires strong Algebra I content knowledge and the ability to build motivating, relationship-driven classrooms for students below grade level.

Minimum Requirements
Salaries for certified teachers entering their first year start at $60,000, with an overall salary range of $50,000–$85,000 based on experience and qualifications. What You’ll Do

Responsibilities
- Teach 3 sections of 11th grade Math Analysis and an additional math section (likely 9th grade Algebra I)
- Use an interventionist mindset to diagnose skill gaps and drive students toward mastery
- Foster a classroom environment grounded in critical thinking, academic rigor, mutual respect, and high expectations for all students
- Maintain consistent, proactive communication with families regarding student progress and relevant school updates.
- Engage fully in professional development and collaborate closely with colleagues to best support student learning and growth.
- Teachers hired at Freire Charter High School (20th & Chestnut St.) have the opportunity to be CREW Leaders and will co-lead a class focusing on SEL and community building twice a week.

- Bachelor’s degree required
- Valid state teaching certification, or a clear ability and commitment to obtain certification
- Strong content-area knowledge and instructional skill

- Minimum of two years of successful experience working with diverse student populations
