Responsibilities
- Assist experienced mechanics with repairs and maintenance on a wide range of vehicles and equipment, including trucks and trailers.
- Perform routine inspections and oil changes on heavy duty trucks and trailers.
- Perform Pre-Delivery Inspections on new units being delivered to end customers.
- Use hand tools and power tools, specialty tools to repair or replace mechanical components
- Support the assembly, disassembly, and troubleshooting of heavy trucks and trailers.
- Conduct safety checks such as brake inspections, suspension assessments, air brake systems, and alignment procedures
- Maintain detailed records of repairs performed, parts used, and diagnostic findings
- Follow safety protocols when handling heavy lifting tasks and operating heavy equipment like forklifts and scissor lifts.
Qualifications
- Previous experience or familiarity with dealership service environments is a plus but not required; we welcome eager learners!
- Basic mechanical knowledge with an understanding of transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, diesel engines, shocks & struts, and suspension components.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in reading schematics and electrical diagrams
- Willingness to learn about heavy trucks and trailers.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in various environmental conditions
