What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assembler position at Freightliner Custom Chassis?
Inside the Role As a member of the Freightliner Custom Chassis team, you are responsible for assembling chassis components. The candidate for this position will have a passion for process improvements, a keen eye to detail, and love numbers. Leading with the Daimler Values of passion, respect, integrity, and discipline is an absolute must. We Take Care of Our Team Typically requires high school diploma or equivalent. Responsibilities: Assembles chassis components such as axles, transmissions, and motors using hand tools and other specified equipment. Adjusts brakes, inflates tires, lubricates chassis, and pours in oil or brake fluid. Assembles and bundles Chassis according to engineering specifications. Performs other tasks and assignments as requested by supervisor. Conscious of inventory of parts and works with materials personnel and quality assurance inspectors to alleviate part shortages and the proper execution of inventory control. Practices good safety habits in work area as well as all areas in the plant. Maintain area cleanliness during and at end of shift. Possesses good working knowledge of testing equipment, gauges and conveyor system used in chassis manufacturing. Corrects any defects located on chassis and responsible for quality workmanship.
