Job Overview:
We are seeking a versatile and dedicated individual to join our trucking company as a Class 8 Tire Technician. This unique position requires a candidate who can efficiently manage their time and responsibilities, contribute to maintaining a clean fleet of trucks and trailers, and assist in tire-related tasks. The successful candidate will work Tuesday through Saturday and will be responsible for a range of duties that include driving, cleaning, and tire-related maintenance.
Cleaning Responsibilities:
Use brushes, brooms, soaps, and solvents to clean trucks and trailers.
Clean reefer trailers, including washing out blood and ensuring sanitary conditions.
Work in confined spaces to clean and maintain various parts of the vehicles.
Perform cleaning tasks in all weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.
Tire Technician Responsibilities:
Mount, dismount, and install tires and rims on class 8 trucks and trailers.
Organize and maintain tire inventory in collaboration with the shop manager.
Assist with building/yard maintenance, parts runs, and support of experienced diesel mechanics.
Safely perform assigned tasks in compliance with company policies and procedures.
Additional Duties:
Proactively find and engage in productive tasks during non-driving, non-cleaning, and non-tire maintenance periods.
Demonstrate attention to detail in all aspects of the job.
Ensure the overall maintenance and presentation of the fleet.
Qualifications:
Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record preferred.
Previous experience in truck driving, cleaning roles, and tire-related tasks is an advantage.
Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in basic computer skills.
Ability to perform physical requirements of the position (lifting up to 100 lbs., bending, climbing, standing for the duration of the shift, etc.).
Must pass a pre-employment background check.
Effective reading, writing, and understanding of verbal instructions in English.
Working Conditions:
Tuesday through Saturday work schedule.
Outdoor work in all weather conditions.
Exposure to varying temperatures, including extreme heat and cold.
