Job Summary:
Lumpers are responsible for the efficient unloading and loading of freight, cargo, or merchandise in a warehouse or distribution setting. This physically demanding role requires attention to detail, speed, and the ability to work well in a team to ensure timely movement of goods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely unload and load trucks, trailers, and containers by hand or with equipment
- Stack, sort, and organize freight in the appropriate areas
- Inspect items for damage and report discrepancies or issues
- Use pallet jacks, dollies, and other tools to move heavy materials
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures
- Communicate with warehouse supervisors, and team members to ensure smooth operations
- Previous warehouse or freight handling experience (preferred, but not required)
- Ability to lift 50–120 lbs. consistently
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends or holidays if needed
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen.
