This opportunity in our Ecosystem Restoration (ER) group provides you with a supportive pathway to grow your career. Our projects involve the assessment, design, protection, and restoration of degraded, damaged, and destroyed ecosystems and habitats in our watersheds, rivers, and streams. We believe project success starts with an interdisciplinary team composed of diverse skill-sets from geologists, environmental scientists, biologists, restoration engineers, and stormwater engineers. You will learn and leverage a wide range of tools such as geologic investigation, erosion assessments, sediment transport analysis, hydraulic modeling, and more to protect against erosion and flood related risks, enhance and restore our ecosystems, and improve our communities through sustainable and resilient practices.

What Your Day Looks Like –

You will assist in the geomorphic assessment and design of streams and wetlands for water resource, stormwater, erosion protection, and ecosystem restoration projects. This includes working outdoors in various conditions collecting samples and geomorphic data, and performing data analysis using models, mathematical measurements, GIS, and visual representations. You will map, graph, and accurately display the results of your investigations to develop solutions for wide array of scenarios. Excellent written and oral communication skills are imperative.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Geomorphology, Geology, Hydrology, or a related field of study

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship Experience
  • Student organization involvement
  • Geologist in Training (GIT) Certificate, if graduated
  • Field work experience
  • Willingness to learn
