Description Skilled workers who perform maintenance crafts work such as plumbing, pipefitting, carpentry, painting, welding, machining, boilermaking, or other specialized area. Will perform maintenance activities independently, with minimal supervision, or support journeymen in their maintenance activities. Facilities Maintenance Repairman A Facilities Maintenance Repairman performs duties related to general building construction including but not limited to plumbing, pipefitting, carpentry, painting, masonry, and other assigned activities. Operates equipment such as loaders, 10 wheelers, forklifts, trucks, bob cats, backhoe, dump trucks, 9-passenger vans and small transportation vehicles. Boilermaker/Welder A Boilermaker/Welder performs duties related to assembly, maintenance, and repair of boilers, pressure vessels, tanks and vats by performing a variety of complex welding processes such as electric resistance, oxyacetylene or arc torches. Machinist Repairman A Machinist Repairman performs duties related to the set up and operation of machine tools and fits and assembles parts to make or repair metal parts, mechanisms, tools or machines. Lays out work from drawings, sketches, and written specifications. Perform routine maintenance activities Complete Work Orders and other maintenance documentation Other tasks as assigned One (1) year of experience in the crafts of welder, boilermaker, machinist or facility maintenance/construction Proficiency in welding/cutting Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude. The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment where required.
