Our employees make use of state-of-the-art laboratories and test facilities, including a fully automated analytical lab – the first of its kind in the Americas. What You Will Do
The estimated pay range for this role is currently $20.50 - $28.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. What You Will Do
- Perform routine and non-routine chemical and/or metallurgical analytical tasks at assigned site.
- May collect samples which could include collection from rail cars or trucks in some locations
- Prepare samples for analysis using established tests and techniques.
- Assists with/performs routine chemical and/or metallurgical analysis and reporting.
- Maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment
- Perform other duties as required
- Demonstrated knowledge of math, chemistry and/or computer skills appropriate to the assignment
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience with mathematic and/or numbers-based tasks
- Experience with sample preparation and/or analysis
- Ability to follow detailed, technical instructions
- Experience with tedious and repetitive motions or tasks
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Strong proficiency using MS Excel to develop and maintain spreadsheets reports, and other documentation
- Experience with lifting samples
- Ability to wear respirator for full shift
- Ability to work outside in dirty environment
- Forklift operation experience
