Where You Will Work Tyrone is an open-pit copper mining complex located in Grant County, New Mexico – just 10 miles south of the historic mining community of Silver City. The copper processing facilities currently consist of a solvent extraction/electrowinning operation with an annual maximum capacity of approximately 100 million pounds of copper. Visit Silver City to learn more. ## What You Will Do * Support operations and/or maintenance in mine and processing areas in an industrial setting. * Area housekeeping to include tasks such as shoveling, hosing and digging. * Operation of processing/mobile equipment. * Material lifting/handling. * Operation of hand/power tools. * Equipment/facility maintenance. * Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned according to business need. ## What You Bring To Freeport * No work experience required. * Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude. The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment where required. This exam is based on skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety. * Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards. ## Preferred Qualifications * High School Diploma or GED What We Offer You The estimated pay range for this role is currently $20.00 - $24.50/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
