Where You Will Work Located approximately 50 miles northeast of Safford, Arizona on U.S. Highway 191, Morenci operations (an open-pit copper mining complex) has been in continuous operation since 1939. The operation consists of two concentrators, crushed-ore leach pad and stacking system, a low-grade run-of-mine (ROM) leaching system; four SX plants; and three EW tank houses that produce copper cathode. Visit the Morenci town website to learn more. ## What You Will Do * Assist in providing technical advice and guidance for designated Engineering projects and programs at assigned site. * Assist in the review, investigation and development of appropriate recommendations regarding assigned Engineering projects * Participate on small to medium site construction, expansion or modification projects * Administer contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment * Develop working knowledge of local, state and federal regulations appropriate to area of assignment * Perform other duties as required ## What You Bring To Freeport * Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering discipline with no experience required * Knowledge of the principles and practices of Engineering * Able to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions * Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions * Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards * Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing ## Preferred Qualifications * Advanced Degree or Professional Engineering (PE) Certification * Knowledge and experience of power systems engineering including equipment design and specification, installation, testing and commissioning of industrial power systems * Knowledge and experience of power systems studies including load flow, short circuit, coordination, and Arc flash study and Mitigation * Knowledge and experience with electrical equipment used in process plants including experience with reading One lines & electric schematics * Knowledge and experience with AutoCAD, SKM and Relay software (Enervista, Acselerator Quickset) * Self-motivated with excellent work ethic * Proficiency in MS Office What We Offer You The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $80,000-$110,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
