Job Summary
With oversight from the Supervisor, Regulatory Projects and Audit and Director, Regulatory Affairs, the Lead, Regulatory Internal Audit is responsible for implementing the Freeport LNG Internal Regulatory Audit Program.
The Freeport LNG Internal Regulatory Audit Program ensures that Freeport LNG Facilities are in proper compliance with all environmental codes, permit conditions, and regulatory and agency requirements during operations. The Regulatory Internal Audit Lead is also involved in providing transparency to internal stakeholders within Freeport LNG by conducting internal audits, gathering data, creating reports, and recommending corrective actions. This position requires a person that is a self-starter, has the ability to identify and resolve issues, and follows through on commitments. This position is responsible for ensuring asset/operational compliance with all local, state, and federal agencies, including applicable programs and all associated required reporting. In addition to maintaining positive internal relationships and good communication, the Regulatory Internal Audit Lead will monitor all operational/regulatory departments in Freeport LNG and ensure that applicable documentation is maintained in an audit ready state. This interface is critical in maintaining accurate, consistent communications and transparency between Freeport LNG and regulatory agencies.
Location/Travel Information
This position is based at the Houston Headquarters location, with travel to other Freeport LNG Facilities and off-site locations as required. This position requires the incumbent to hold a valid, unexpired driver license at all times in order to perform the essential functions of the job.
Duties/Responsibilities
• Implement the Regulatory Internal Audit program with applicable plans/programs/and procedures;
• Initiate and execute internal regulatory audit engagements, including data collection and analysis;
• Provide feedback (through objective assessments), recommendations, and internal reports from internal audits;
• Document internal audit findings including recommended corrective actions.
• Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations/corrective actions to completion;
• Consider risk management and control management over operations’ effectiveness and compliance with all applicable directives and regulations
• Collaborate with applicable departments to ensure compliance and audit readiness and provide support as necessary with external auditors during regulatory compliance assessments;
• Engage in continuous knowledge development regarding regulations, best practices and performance standards;
• Continually strive to streamline and improve the Regulatory Internal Audit program;
• Other duties and projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualification/Work Experience
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
Minimum Experience: 10 years’ experience in regulatory auditing, permitting, or compliance tracking in the LNG, Petrochemical, Pipeline, or other Oil & Gas industries
Preferred Experience: 12 years’ experience in regulatory auditing, permitting, or compliance tracking in the LNG or Pipeline industry

• Ability to travel to Freeport LNG Facilities as needed (on average no more than once a week).

• Operates primarily in a professional office environment outside of, but periodically within an industrial plant environment.
