Corporate M&A Attorney: Entry-Level to Junior Associate
Start Your Legal Career at Freeman Lovell
Freeman Lovell, a forward-thinking business and real estate law firm, is growing its Corporate Group and looking for an entry-level to junior attorney to join its Corporate M&A team. No prior deal experience is required, just strong fundamentals, careful writing, and a genuine interest in transactional law. You’ll be mentored directly by partners who are actively closing deals and given real client-facing work from day one, not years of document review before anyone trusts you with something that matters. Our fully remote model redefines where work happens and how legal professionals build a career.
About Freeman Lovell
Founded in 2016 by Josh Freeman and Steve Lovell, Freeman Lovell distinguishes itself through its commitment to autonomy, flexibility, and a collaborative culture. Our practice spans business formation, small business investment, mergers and acquisitions, tax, real estate, employment strategy, and dispute resolution. At Freeman Lovell, you’re not just joining a law firm. You’re joining a team that values innovation, results, and the freedom to work from anywhere.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for an entry-level to junior attorney with 0–2 years of experience who wants to build a career in M&A and business transactions. You don’t need a book of business or years of deal experience; you need strong fundamentals and the drive to learn deal mechanics quickly. You’ll work directly on live transactions, including drafting and reviewing letters of intent, purchase agreements, and closing documents, conducting legal due diligence, and preparing disclosure schedules, all under the direct supervision of partners who are actively closing deals.
Key Qualifications
• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
• 0–2 years of relevant experience; recent graduates and judicial clerks are encouraged to apply
• Utah bar license required, or eligibility for admission to the Utah bar (bar exam pending, UBE score transfer, or admission by motion)
• Familiarity with, or strong interest in, the M&A deal lifecycle: LOIs, due diligence, purchase agreements (APA/SPA), disclosure schedules, and closing
• Excellent analytical, drafting, and communication skills
• A track record of initiative, integrity, and success working independently in a remote environment
Why Freeman Lovell?
• Flexibility: Embrace the balance you’ve been seeking with our fully remote working model.
• Growth: Direct mentorship from partners actively closing deals, with a clear path to grow into a senior associate role as you build experience.
• Compensation: Competitive, Utah-market compensation, commensurate with experience.
• Culture: Join a firm that values collaboration, innovation, and the success of its attorneys and clients alike.
Salary : $90,000 - $120,000
