Summary
Supervises the Sparks Accounts Receivable (AR) and Financial Services team within the TFC enterprise. Oversees cash applications, credit reviews, and collections across SAP S/4HANA and NetSuite, ensuring accurate, timely AR outcomes in alignment with TFC corporate standards. This position supports the Sparks Finance team and is based in our Philadelphia, PA office. The role operates within the broader TFC (The Freeman Company) enterprise structure, adhering to TFC corporate standards, policies, and reporting frameworks.
This position is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in-office and/or show-site 2–3 days per week. The position is based out of our Sparks office in Philadelphia, PA.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and develop AR associates; manage performance, workload, and priorities.
- Track KPIs, deliver feedback, and drive results aligned with TFC’s service standard: “Do it right. First Time. Every Time.”
- Oversee cash application, credit reviews, collections, and refund processing across all assigned company codes.
- Manage escalated collections including third-party agencies, litigation, and bankruptcy accounts.
- Support period-end close activities, including aging reconciliation, DSO reporting, bad debt analysis, and audit requests.
- Partner with Sales, Finance, Operations, and Legal on billing accuracy, dispute resolution, credit holds, and account escalations.
- Coordinate with IT on system gaps affecting AR visibility and reporting; develop user stories and business cases.
- Maintain and update SOPs and job aids for all AR functions.
- Produce aging summaries, KPI scorecards, and collections reports.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- Bachelors Degree from an accredited 4 year college or university with a concentration in Accounting, Finance, or Business is preferred. High School Diploma or Equivalent with 3 years of relevant professional experience is required.
- 3 years of commercial credit and collections experience, including 2 years managing strategic corporate accounts.
- 1 year of supervisory experience, or 2 years in a senior staff role with leadership responsibilities.
- 2 years of audit cycle experience; strong GAAP knowledge.
- Proficiency in SAP S/4HANA and/or NetSuite; advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with escalated collections: outside agencies, litigation, and bankruptcy proceedings.
- Proven ability to convey complex financial information clearly to internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated history of effective cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Finance, Operations, and Legal to protect customer receivables integrity and drive process improvements.
- Demonstrated ability to create and maintain process documentation including SOPs, job aids, and IT user stories.
- Prior experience in system migration and a strong understanding of software applications; proven ability to lead team transitions to new platforms.
- Experience with AI-powered applications such as Microsoft Copilot or similar tools is a plus; familiarity with leveraging AI to improve productivity, reporting, and workflow efficiency is preferred.

NACM professional designation (CBA/CBF) is a plus; not required.
