Freeman Boatworks is looking for a hands-on, mechanically inclined team member. This position focuses on the installation of key components—such as decks, liners, consoles, leaning posts, and other fabricated parts. What You’ll Do:
- Assemble and install structural and cosmetic components of our boats
- Use a variety of hand and power tools including tape measures, razor knives, screw guns, drills, and ratchets
- Identify and correct defects, ensuring all work meets Freeman’s quality standards
- Work independently and as part of a team to meet daily production goals
- Perform fiberglass grinding and cutting to fit parts as needed
- Assist with minor lamination work
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in assembly or hands-on mechanical work preferred
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. without assistance
- Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled environment (may include sun exposure)
- Able to climb stairs, ladders, and ramps to safely access boats and equipment
- Detail-oriented with good problem-solving skills and the ability to stay on task
- Experience using hand tools and following written/verbal instructions
- Strong safety awareness and willingness to wear PPE (eye/ear protection, gloves, etc.)
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand, walk, lift, kneel, and bend for extended periods
- Must be able to work a 10-hour shift or longer, including overtime when needed
- Exposure to loud noise, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and fiberglass dust is common
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and provided
