What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavioral Health Specialist position at Freelancing?
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY:
- Responsible for compliance with any federal and any state regulations or certification standards associated with Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHC) for the state of Rhode Island.
- Responsible for monitoring and compliance of newly established CCBHCs throughout Rhode Island.
SPECIFIC EXPERTISE:
- Minimum of a master’s degree related to behavioral or public health with 5 years of experience.
- Within the 5 years of experience has worked with state agencies and behavioral health agencies
- Knowledge of behavioral health services and resources on a local, state and national level; Ability to guide the organization in meeting and exceeding standards.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Associate Director of Special Projects, Beth Matthews.
KEY RELATIONSHIPS: Director of Division of BH, all relevant stake holders involved with CCBHCs
GRANTS PROJECT SPECIALIST DUTIES:
- Responsible for oversight and compliance to state and federal regulations and standards associated with CCBHC
- Coordinate processes and internal resources across multiple departments to ensure that CCBHC requirements are implemented, and outcomes met.
- Participates in providing collaboration and attending meetings with all those associated with implementation and ongoing monitoring of CCBHC.
- Ensure that BHDDH leadership obtains the information necessary to support the organization’s goals throughout implementation and monitoring of CCBHCs. Prepare
status reports for the BH Associate Director of special projects and the Director of BHDDH for review.
- Ensure that all CCBHC program development plans and activities are executed in keeping with funding requirements and in keeping with BHDDH’s values, mission, vision, and strategy for the implementation of CCBHC
- Evaluate CCBHC effectiveness; identify successful and unsuccessful CCBHC relationships and engage in proactive problem-solving to reduce barriers impacting the successful outcomes in coordination with organizational leaders.
They are looking for someone who has previous clinical experience in behavioral health (treatment planning, documentation, evidence-based practices, etc.), as they will be conducting clinical reviews and audits of community behavioral health providers.
The manager is open to seeing resumes without Master's/bachelor's degrees, if the candidate has the above clinical experience.

Pay: $38.00 - $40.00 per hour
